How To Get In Free

Tickets for Ultra Light Startups events cost $20 (Early Bird) or $30 (Last Minute).  Even though these prices are near the top end for meetups, the events nearly always sell out.  For your convenience, there are a number of ways to get in for free…

Attend As A Media Partner

Media Partners are individuals or organizations with significant media reach that help promote Ultra Light Startups events. Email info@ultralightstartups.com if you think this applies.

Sponsor Ultra Light Startups

All full-time employees of companies who sponsor Ultra Light Startups are entitled to free admission at all our events.  Current sponsors include Microsoft, Amazon, Reitler Kailas & Rosenblatt, Seamless, Mintz Levin, and Workbar.  If you are an employee of one of these companies, email info@ultralightstartups.com to be put on the list.

Study at NYU, Harvard or MIT

The NYU Stern Berkley Center for Entrepreneurial Studies hosts alternating Ultra Light Startups events in New York.  NYU students are entitled to free admission at all Ultra Light events.  If the event is hosted at NYU, simply show your badge at the door and you’ll be let in.  If the event is held elsewhere (eg Microsoft) then you need to register using an NYU student discount code.  NYU student discount codes are handled by three NYU student groups, EEG (for Stern undergraduates), EEX (for Stern graduate students), and Tech@NYU (for all other NYU students).

Ultra Light Startups Boston works closely with multiple Harvard and MIT communities.  Harvard and MIT students are entitled to free admission at all Ultra Light events.  You can register for Ultra Light events with the given discount codes handled by various Harvard and MIT communities such as MITX, MIT Enterprise Forum, Hack Harvard, and Harvard College Venture Partners.

Volunteer at Ultra Light Startups

We need volunteers for things like:

  • Help running the registration desk at events
  • Video production (videography, A/V, live video streaming, etc)
  • Blogging the event (eg profiling the pitch contest winners)
  • Help with the website and design (WordPress/Thesis, php, html, css, javascript, etc)
  • Marketing, promotions, and social media

If you can help in any of these areas, email info@ultralightstartups.com.  I will need to meet with you in person at least 3 days before the event to verify eligibility (ie sanity). Please don’t email me the day of an event asking to volunteer.  I’m way too busy then.

Win Free Tickets

In the weekly email newsletter we often announce contests and promotions offering free tickets and other prizes.  Often, winning requires nothing more than posting to the Ultra Light Startups Facebook group or tagging yourself in a photo.  Be sure to read the newsletter carefully to take part in the contests.
